damn: I hate it when I make such obvious mistakes:Apologies--

I wrote this as I watched the story on NBC, the "Russian" slip totally got past me. Odd thing is I reposted this article on a few other sites, no one else caught it......
I am proud of hip-hop influencing any and all political theme songs period, that's my point.

Let me not lead you to believe I am an expert on Ukrainian politics or culture. I just knew that a favored politician was allegedly poisoned and his party had a hip hop song as their theme, and thought the story needed some attention from hip-hop fans in America. I still have not seen this covered in any other hip-hop magazines or websites in America.

L. Cue: --What's the matter with you?
Don't you know that DJ Oleh Laniak who wrote the lyrics & singer Roman Kalin & guitarist Roman Kostiuk who together wrote "Razom nas Bahato" are UKRAINIANS, not RUSSIANS? These guys wrote the song in support of Viktor Yushchenko, who has "a preference for ties with the European Union, & a westward-looking approach." In the Washington Post article you refer people to, you can read how "(Ukrainian musicians) complained that the Ukrainian music industry is dominated by powerful producers in Moscow who promote Russian pop.... Yanukovych is regarded as Russian-friendly. Protesters commonly expressed fears that Ukraine would be dominated by Russia if Yanukovych won.
"The musicians and the crowd shared a desire to reconquer Ukraine for Ukrainians."
