DID THEO VAN GOGH DESERVE TO DIE THIS WAY?

Islam is a religion that embraces peace and togetherness. Their faith is so strong in Allah (God) that they believe "Allah is the solution to any problem". Islam confirms it clearly that "there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger", in this case the religion doesn't promote violence.

Unfortunately, the misinterpretation of Islam by different groups clinging to the same religion that preaches peace, have tarnished the image of the religion by commiting horrific crimes including assassination, suicide bombing and decapitation.

My question is if Islam means peace and Muslims believe that Allah is the solution to every problem, why do these people kill in the name of Allah, when Allah is a great God, who has no pleasure in wickedness? I don't feel sorry for these groups carrying out these atrocities worldwide but I feel very sorry for the way some devoted Muslims are being treated or seen by the public.

The assassination of Dutch film producer and director Theo Van Gogh a couple of weeks ago is a totally senseless killing, which has brought more hatred to Muslims who have suffered enough after the September 11th atrocity. It was widely reported in the media that the letter left behind by the assailant had the names of four politicians pencilled down for elimination because of their comments on Islam.

From ages past to our present generation, violence and bloodshed haven't been wise solutions to conflict. The bloodshed going on in Iraq and other places in the world is enough. Let's think about the children and create a better world for their future.
