Nightclub fire kills 175

A Buenos Aires nightclub suffered a fire during a Los Callejeros rock gig last night, reports Sky News. It is estimated that 175 people have died and over 600 were injured. The venue was said to have held over 2000 people.

According to the BBC, the club owner has been arrested.
Seems that the fire exits were locked, a depressing parallel with lots of other fatal fires. This probably contributed to the death toll.
Exits were "locked with chains and padlocks", said Mayor Ibarra. Concert-goers managed to force open some exits, but only firefighters were able to break open the others.
This guy deserves a long jail term.
Yes, it is depressing to see these idiots who lock the fire-doors (to prevent people sneaking in no doubt) and combining this with overselling a gig. If he is indeed guilty he should be in prison for a nice long stretch.

I found photos from websites of the band playing last night. These photos show the flares that caused the fire were commonplace at their concerts.
