It may seem stupid to many by leaving the good city life to live in the jungle with animals. But that was the passion of Dian Fossey. Going to Africa to see and live with gorillas was her childhood dream.

She made her first trip to Africa in 1963 and began her studies in 1966 in the Congo. Living in a solitary life for many years, Dian Fossey observed the gorillas habits and gradually gained their acceptance.
