Merry Christmas!
Published December 25, 2004
Now that it's officially December 25th, I'd like to take a moment to spread some Christmas cheer far and wide...
To President Bush: Congratulations on your re-election victory, in the face of a relentless onslaught by the media. Enjoy the holiday, because you've got plenty of work to do come January...
To John Kerry: Thank you for conceding graciously and not dragging the country through another divisive post-election recount battle. It had to have been indescribably painful to come so close to achieving your lifelong goal of becoming President, only to lose by such a narrow margin. Here's hoping your pain eases with the passage of time...
To Elizabeth Edwards: All decent people hope you'll get well soon. Here's wishing you a healthy 2005 and many more Christmases to come!
To Ron Artest: Christmas is the perfect time for a little self-reflection. How about some anger-management counseling in 2005? You're a great player, but you do your team no good if you're constantly getting suspended. Clean up your act, and maybe one day the NBA will award you (and your teammates) with some very nice jewelry...
To US Military forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere: No matter if you are Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, National Guard, or whatever, we all appreciate what you're doing over there. And being away from your loved ones at this time of year, while facing danger every day, is a brutal load to carry. Mere words cannot express the debt all American civilians owe to our all-volunteer military force. May you defeat our enemies, continue to spread freedom and liberty to formerly-oppressed peoples, and then come home soon!
And to all my fellow BlogCritics and devoted BlogCritics.org readers: It's been a great year for this site. Let's keep things going in 2005!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

"We missed an NFL game, unless I missed your football pick post."
You missed it, bro. It's here.
Merry Christmas to you as well, RJ, and a hearty second to the wishes you sent out to the troops.
Merry Christmas, President Bush -- and may you sleep well with the ghosts of over 1200 dead American soldiers hovering over your warm secure bed.
...And may you find those weapons of mass destruction...
...in your stocking --
...or at least a box of coal.
You deserve 'em.
re. RJ to "the troops": "...May you defeat our enemies, continue to spread freedom and liberty to formerly-oppressed peoples, and then come home soon!"
I guess it's safe to say you still believe in Santa, eh?

RJ Elliott is a graduate student studying Criminal Justice at the University Of Central Florida. His likes include nature, sports, and pierced blondes. He dislikes daytime television, left-wing dictators, and lead-tainted Chinese imports. He is ambivalent about Angelina Jolie.

Cut the crap about the PC crowd and Merry Christmas.
You've only got Christmas wishes for celebrities and politicians? How sad. Oh, and did I say Merry Christmas?
The lamest claim I have heard all year - that Merry Christmas is being banned. Some people are just pathetic, pure and simple. And someone has to be blamed - no one can just gird their loins, take a deep breath and, oh, I don't know, enjoy themselves.
I will be.
Merry Christmas.
PS. We missed an NFL game, unless I missed your football pick post.
