That's a quote from Andre Lastrapes-Luckett, whose father was killed in October 1992, allegedly by Dominique Green who was tried and convicted in the backlash. The problem is, "Green won a reprieve from a federal judge in Houston, who agreed with defense claims that 280 newly discovered boxes of evidence improperly stored and catalogued by the Houston Police Department's crime lab could contain information related to Green's case." In spite of this, Dominique Green was executed by lethal injection Tuesday evening.
Below is the Associated Press article about Dominique Green:
Inmate executed after two-hour appeals delayOct 27, 2:02 AM EDT

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) - Late appeals to the federal courts and the pleas from relatives of a murder victim who wanted him to live failed to stop the execution of convicted killer Dominique Green.
Green, 30, expressed love to friends and thanked them for their love and support, then received a lethal injection for the shooting death of a Houston man during a robbery outside a convenience store a dozen years ago.
"I am not angry, but I am disappointed that I was denied justice," he said in a barely audible voice, looking at five friends he invited to watch him die. "There is so much I have to say, but I just can't say it all... Please keep the struggle going.
"Please keep my memory alive," he said just before the drugs took effect, causing him to gasp slightly.
Nine minutes later he was pronounced dead.
The execution was delayed by about two hours until the U.S. Supreme Court, acting on an appeal by his lawyers, refused to stop the punishment.
About seven hours earlier, Green won a reprieve from a federal judge in Houston, who agreed with defense claims that 280 newly discovered boxes of evidence improperly stored and catalogued by the Houston Police Department's crime lab could contain information related to Green's case.
"The state's interest in carrying out the judgment and sentence of death is outweighed by the need for certainty," U.S. District Judge Nancy Atlas wrote.
State attorneys, however, appealed to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, arguing Green's lawyers couldn't prove any evidence was missing. Harris County prosecutors, who tried the case in 1993, had said all evidence had been accounted for in Green's case.

Would it be better to be California where Scott Peterson will have to wait an average of 200 years before he sees the death chamber?

Ther is no justice in Texas I was conned and had over $26.000 dollars worth of jewelry stolen from me I notified the Watauga Police department and faxed them 27 pages of information on the case including the letter where the woman that had stolen it confessed to taking amd selling my things They did nothing not even had the curtisy to call me back concerning this matter. What it came down to was the woman in question is now living with a retired FBI agent whose son is a very prominit business man in Watauga. The ex- FBI agent told me he could and would have the case swept under the rug. I feel it is safe to say that is excately what happened. Texas cares nothing for the victims of crimes just their good ol boys Now what will happen I will have to find a Texas lawyer to sue them putting out even more money as I am a disablied person with limited means and all my resources have been stolen from me.I don't have any more funds to pay a lawyer considering these people conned me out of over $40,000.00 dollars. Everything I had with the help of an ex FBI agent. The same 2 people I charged with the theft were in Watauga jail on charges of Fraud both have crimminal back grounds consisting of bad checks, fraud, conning people out of their money. Whats the problem here didn't my case warrent being looked into I even sent a signed confession from the woman to the police excately what do they need???? I am the victim here not the crimnial.Don't Mess With Texas you have that right unless your a crimnial then you have rights.Thank you for nothing Watauga Police my most sincere hope is I never have to come back to Texas for any reason.Your are a disappointment to the justice system, to handicapped people who get ripped off in your state.
