I'm surprised they didn't just put all of them together and sell it as a boxed set. They can do the same thing with the Halloween episodes too, arguably the best episodes of all.

ah, but with these "lite" collections (the full ones being the full season sets) the idea is always to give you just enough to want more. You can see it with some other popular/long-running series that have similar "lite" themed episode collections alongside full and part seasons. I also can't help thinking it's a bit of a throwback to before the DVD format came out, as obviously you can't fit an entire series of The Simpsons on noe video, so they had a load of themed collections like this to make it easy and cheap to get a good mix of episodes.
Good review though, and I agree that these themed collections are good for casual fans. BUT, play.com have the season DVD boxed sets of The Simpsons for 14.99 delivered - i kid you not. They also have similarly bargain prices on the Futurama and Family Guy season sets. http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=promo&R=R2&id=768&linkBack=Bargains for The Simpsons and Futurama

They should have about enough Christmas episodes for a box set. If they had just one times sixteen seasons, and you throw in a couple of tangential "winter" shows like the snow plow episode, there you'd have you one of the ultimate Christmas video perennials.

I agree that the omission of "Marge Be Not Proud" is a criminal one - particularly since the snowstorm ep in the second set is only tangentially related to the holiday. . .
