<description>Nice job profiling a book that looks at perhaps one of the least mentioned conflicts in American history. It&#039;s interesting to look back at the US - British relationship, with its slow increase of influence of a reluctant American power alongside the gradual decline of the British Empire. 

I often wonder if the US is today at the peak of its powers or entering the long slow decline that befell Britain. 

Nonetheless, thanks for spreading the word on this book.
