I should add the following: in mentioning that The Passion of the Christ has received no award nominations or wins so far, I wasn't suggesting the film deserved being passed over. I am curious to know if critics are snubbing it intentionally, but how could we tell, unless the critics themselves admit it?

I thought the film was very well made, if excessive in parts, and I'm no holy roller either, despite being Catholic. I thought the flogging scene was way over the top. However, Jim Caveziel delivered an award-worthy performance, and I expected he would receive some acknowledgement at awards time, but so far, he hasn't.

I am no holy roller, but The Passion is one of the best made movies this year. Period. It deserves to be honored.

excellent job Randy, we really needed this - I am slow to the news lately - thanks!

Oh, and I vote backlash - critics hate this shit, and foreign critics perhaps more than American
