Unfortunately, Bernie Thank God� is not the first Bush nominee whose twisted ways were known before he actually got his first day's pay; it's just that with Olson, for example, no one cared that he seemed to be lying under oath; I'm sure that was true for others as well. Hell, with Cheney on the same ticket, under the Twelfth Amendment, Texas shouldn't have been allowed to cast electoral votes for the pair. (Unless you believe his "home" in Wyoming was more than his Texas tax returns showed it to be.)

I don't disagree that Kerik is most likely a scumbag and perhaps has ties to the mob, but at least he did serve his country overseas in the armed forces, which is more than we can say for George aWol Bush and Dick "Chickenhawk" Cheney (he of the 5 deferments).
