Vote Blogcritics

People, we need your help. I am lukewarm at best about awards based upon mobilizing voters on your own behalf (or mobilizing bots to do the dirty work for you), but I am even less interested in sucking hosewater in said polls, especially when the vote totals are public and I am hearing from people bitching about it.

We are honored to be nominated for The Wiz Bang 2004 Weblog Awards for Best Group Blog and would very much appreciate it if our loyal readers and writers would hop on over and vote for us. The voting is only open until December 12 and individuals can vote once a day. If all of our readers and writers voted for us daily until the 12th, we would, um, win, which would be good, as opposed to embarrassingly bad. So go for it, if you feel like it.

Career media professional Eric Olsen is honored to be the founder and publisher of Blogcritics.org, which, quite frankly, rules - as do his wife and four children.

I'll go further than Eric.

Not only should each and every one of you vote once a day, but you should provide the voting link on your main Blog, as well as an endorsement for BlogCritics.

And not only that, but you should write to every person in your e-mail address book, and encourage them to vote for BlogCritics.

If we all do this, we will win. If none of us do this, we will lose, in humiliating fashion.

Are you PROUD to be a BlogCritic? Well, then SHOW IT!

Get out the vote!!!

(Polls close 12-12-2004...)

How do we provide the specific voting link for this entry?

This is the link:

Use this, and encourage people to vote BlogCritics!

i've been voting for blogcritics every day. and have been encouraging people on my site to do so as well.

and while you're there voting for blogcritics, why not help a fellow critic out and cast a vote for my site, ingrown brain stem in the "best humor blog" category? at least blogcritics is in whole numbers at 1.6%; i'm pulling up the rear at a pathetic 0.5% of the vote.

please, take pity on me and make my mother proud. vote copygodd 2004!

Update: Still getting our asses kicked.

#7 — December 6, 2004 @ 15:42PM — copygodd [URL]

further update: me too.

I voted and I'll vote daily.
If it makes you all feel better, I get about 4 to 6 viewers a week on my blog.

#9 — December 6, 2004 @ 16:33PM — TDavid [URL]

I put my vote in for the dark red and white horse ;)

eric, you should bump this and rj's post so they're at the top of the "culture" column until the 12th.

blogcritics has moved up to three from the bottom now! woohoo!!

i'm still in last. boohoo.

I just went over to vote and was denied the opportunity because the post said I already voted today. That's impossible, because I last voted Monday at 1:00 p.m. or so, just before posting my comment above. So something is screwy on their site.

I propose provisional ballots to make sure the vote is not suppressed!

Wait, that didn't work so hot last time...

and where is the freaking paper trail?? I cry out at the potential for nefarious inequity and demand the Greens and Libertarians pay for a recount - unless we win

#14 — December 8, 2004 @ 09:14AM — bhw [URL]

lol....

I got it to work this morning, btw.

I got it figured out. I was just there and it said I already voted today, but I haven't. However at the bottom it says 'once every 24 hours'. So if I vote at 10pm at night, I won't be able to vote the next day, until 10pm.
