In the wake of the announcement of "The Greatest Canadian", CBC announces that bow-tie and mutton-chop wearing, dope-smoking, history-making and writing author Pierre Berton has died. From "The Last Spike" to Front Page Challenge, Berton was a quintessential Canadian who showed how colourful we could be.
