Osbournes TV History

Ozzy and Sharon say their MTV cash cow ($85m), I mean reality show, The Osbournes is finished after three seasons, and frankly, what's left to do at this pont? You probably don't want to revisit cancer, pet incontinence and family-wide substance abuse. But thumbs up to the dysfunctional dynasty for seeing the light and not flogging the dead chihuahua for some extra dinero.
"At the end of it I didn't like having cameras around the house all the time," Ozzy told reporters at the MTV Europe Awards in Rome. "When you watch a 25-minute episode, I've been filming all day."
The Boss, Sharon — currently a judge and mentor in ITV1 talent show The X-Factor with Simon Cowell — agreed. "Now everybody's doing reality shows. He's done it, he's been there, he's got to do something else."

The Osbournes are not fooling anyone. They used a (then) fresh idea for a reality show and milked it for all the money they could get.
If that horrid show had continued, MTV would have canned it, at the latest, after the 4th season.
Simply put, the Osbournes were a novelty act that MTV and the family benefitted from. The thing is, while nobody is buying Osbournes show DVD's, Kelly Osbourne is on an ABC drama.
Obviously the Osbournes are still milking "The Osbournes - Season 1" into more money. It's a shame that MTV cannot exploit the Osbournes in a negative light so that MTV could milk some more from that family.

Plus, why not torture some young up and coming bands for your money like they are doing on The Battle for Ozzfest. They have discovered that they can produce reality shows without having cameras shoved down their own throats day in and day out.
