You can set Ipodder to automatically look for new feeds when you launch the program, and you can even set it up to check for new feeds at a time that you specify.

I had to do a fair amount of reading to figure out how to get my podcast up and running. Luckily, between Google and various websites like Ipodder.org. I'm not using traditional blogger software, so I needed a quick and dirty solution to generate an RSS feed that I could place on my site. I found it here, with this PHP script download. You simply upload that PHP script into a directory on your website, place the MP3 that you are going to podcast, in that same directory, and the PHP script will automatically generate the RSS code needed for your podcast. I edited the PHP file with Notepad, to add in specific details about my podcast, saved and renamed the file, and uploaded it to my webserver.

As soon as I learned what it was, I was instantly geeked about it, and spent quite a bit of time working to get my podcast up and rolling - hopefully, you are reading this article, and already having thoughts about doing your own podcast!

It's just funny to see someone who's reading I have respected in the past, come out and just blast podcasting. It was unexpected, to say the least.
I think that's what I enjoy about blogs, is an immediate reaction, like that reaction posted about the PC Magazine interview.

I've started podcasting and it's better than sliced bread. I do think it is here to stay. Podcasting is in it's infancy and is still growing.

Consumer interest in podcasting is growing. At present, around 22 million people in the United States own iPods or other MP3 players (Rainie and Madden, 2005). Around six million of these people have downloaded podcasts and podcasting is expected to reach 12.3 million households by 2010 (Rainie and Madden, 2005; Forrester Research, 2005).
