Constitution Party reflects Christian Right
Published September 29, 2004
This great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been and are afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.
The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblical foundations and to limit the federal government to its Constitutional boundaries.
The Constitution Party, which boasts more than a million members, consists of the remnants of George Wallace's American Independent Party, members of the Christian Right, disaffected Republicans and/or members of the Southern heritage movement. The CP has been endorsed by the Dixie Daily News, the most prominent neo-Confederate publication on the Internet. The Libertarians were second in the periodical's poll of readers' preference for the presidency. George W. Bush received five percent of the vote.
Chuck Baldwin, a far Right preacher and talk radio host, is running for vice-president on the CP ticket.
There is considerable disagreement among far Right Republicans, Libertarians and members of the Constitution Party. For the religious, the dissension is often about who is holier than his adversary. But, to an observer, far Right Republicans and their third-party peers appear to have much in common.

I sure hope the Constitution Party keeps on going strong and grows during the next election. If it becomes successful enough we might be able to dump all the reprehensible Theocons out of the GOP and send them to the CP where they belong.
That said, I do agree that there's no likely connection between the AIP and the CP. The AIP is the descendant of the Know Nothing Party, and its agenda is mainly isolationism, not christian values.
Dave
Why not, Bill? They agree with the CP politically in every respect. They'd fit right in. Do you not want the CP to grow? You could get actual congressmen and senators that way.
Dave
Theocons are, although not as much as liberals, anti-Constitution. I've heard comments from theocons which lean towards a police state much like the standard of beliefs of socialist democrats. The point is simple - theocons don't follow the Constitution. The Constitution Party does.
*The goal isn't so much to get Congressmen and Senators, but more to educate the American public. They certainly aren't learning the truth from the flawed national public school system!!
Today I voted for Chuck Baldwin of the U.S. Constitution Party on the write-in ballot for President!
I'm glad there's somebody like the CP who would rather lose an election standing for what's morally and spiritually correct than win one selling out our human rights and civil liberties!!!
Today I voted for Chuck Baldwin of the U.S. Constitution Party on the write-in ballot for President!
And so your ballot was immediately thrown away without anyone ever looking at it. Brilliant!
Dave
Dave, that sounds like conspiranoia to me...
But even if it were thrown out, would it be any worse to cast a throwaway ballot than it would to cast a vote for more government slavery and less freedoms? A throwaway vote in a case like this would at least allow a voter to sleep at night...

Hmm... I'm a CP'er, yet I'm not a member of any of the mentioned groups - and neither are most of my CP friends... What does this tell you about the author's claims?
