Part of New CDs

This week, Brian Wilson finally dishes up a little album called Smile. Thirty-something years and several breakdowns later, he's actually finished the damned thing and put it out. Obviously, this will be the top pick of this week's crop. It's also, not surprisingly, the #1 seller at Amazon.

Rascal Flatts has a new album this week- Feels Like Today.

Queen Latifah does more for me as an actress than as a musician, but that's where she made her name. The Dana Owens Album finds the Queen singing jazz.

Mark Knopfler puts out his fourth solo album this week, Shangri-La.

At the very bottom of the barrel, Marilyn Manson has released the oxymoronically titled "Best Of" collection. It even has a bonus DVD!!

Unreformed hawkish Hoosier hillbilly and sometimes candidate Al Barger runs the still squeezin' down the psychodelic Kentucky moonshine at MoreThings.com, what with the paranoid religious visions and the Pentacostal music and visions of God and anarchy running amok and such. Somebody oughta call the cops to report his out of control freedom of conscience. Till they come to take him away somewhere where he can't hurt anyone else, you can check out his weekly column of NEW ALBUM RELEASES.

thanks Al! My story on Brian and Smile is here, and my review of the very fine Queen Latifah record is here

The Marilyn Manson best of was released both with and without a DVD. Of course the DVD version costs more...

I was just as happy to get the 9.99 nonDVD version than pay an extra 9.00 for the version with.
