CMU reports that McCartney is lobbying Arnie over that vital important issue of fois gras. Let's hope Arnie is sensible and politely tells Macca and company to fois off.
Paul McCartney is involved in a campaign urging California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to ban foie gras. Last month, California's state legislature approved a bill to outlaw foie gras, and it now awaits Schwarzenegger's assent.According to the BBC, McCartney wants California to be the first US state to ban foie gras pate, which is made, of course, by force feeding geese and ducks. Other stars, including Martin Sheen, Chrissie Hynde and Kim Basinger, are also calling for Schwarzenegger to approve the bill to outlaw the sale and production of the pate..."

I supppose this is a cruelty to animals issue. I don't know anyone who eats this - so, what does it taste like? And I would think eating animals would quailfy as cruelty to animals in any case. Don't get me wrong - I like my chesseburger as well as the next guy - but why would McCartney focus on the small pate market when the beef industry is so much bigger? Oh.... question answered, I guess.
I guess I just wish there was some clarification on this. I know you've got to take a stand for what you believe in, but sometimes it's hard for people to follow your line of reasoning.
