John Kerry Jumps the Shark
Published September 25, 2004
It's over. Said Mr. Kerry yesterday:
"The prime minister and the president are here obviously to put their best face on the policy, but the fact is that the CIA estimates, the reporting, the ground operations and the troops all tell a different story,"These are not the words of a man who will be president, they are rather the words of a man who simply never found a message he could agree on. Such a stupid move. In honor of Fonzi, Kerry jumps the shark (and look who's right behind him):

For those who've never heard the term 'Jump the Shark', it refers to the "Happy Days" episode wherein Fonzi literally jumped a shark while on water skis and represents the moment at which "Happy Days" decline became inevitable. Kerry and Allawi may disagree about the justification for optimism in Iraq, but Kerry is stupid for calling Allawi out as he did, even though things are indeed quite bad in some parts of Iraq. The race is over, the shark has been jumped, and even a well-placed Fonzi whack couldn't bail out the Kerry campaign now. Kerry just never offered anything close to a solution besides wishful thinking, enlisting the help of more allies

See you in syndication, oh, and in Norton, Kansas.
love it, hate it, there's more of it at Pacetown.

This was a horribly stupid entry. Way to put no thought or effort into it. I liked your last thing with the news summary, but this was mindless.
For the record, Kerry clearly jumped the shark when, in front of the Grand Canyon, he said he still would have given Bush the authority to go to war in Iraq even knowing now that there were no WMD and we'd been misled.
That is all.
Bob and Marc, I'm inclined to agree with you about shark jump 1.
Hal and Bob, I think this is another statement / position that will continue put Kerry in difficulty, to borrow a little language from Phil Ligget.
There is much debate about the prudence of going into Iraq. Due to his shuffling on this issue, Kerry has done a miserable job of taking advantage of anti-war sentiment. This statement opens him up to more accusations regarding his inability to lead, plus it puts him on bad terms with Allawi should he become elected. Why do that?
Bob, thanks for the kind words about a previous post and I'm sorry I let you down here.

I don't get it - why would you conclude that the race is over from his statement?
Clearly the situation in Iraq is bad, and Allawi was brought over to put a better face on it.
Is that why you think the race is over, because of this political move?
Or what?
Really - I just don't seen any connection between your conclusion and the facts presented.
