I thoroughly enjoyed this rich autobiography. Throughout the book, you not only gain a deep understanding of the crisis in Sierra Leone, but also walk through Aminatta's confusing upbringing.
Being a former missionary to Cameroon and a mother of small children who have had Africa influence much of their childhood so far, I was touched and moved by her descriptions of beloved Africa.
Thank you, Aminatta, for reaching deep within and allowing yourself to reveal so much. I admire your courage and your beautiful literary talent.
