Saga back...

Network
SAGA
(SPV)

Network marks Saga's best release for a very long time. It happens to be their most accesible since their mid-80s hey-day. There is less of the muso-loved noodling and a lot more melody. It is surprisingly catchy and perky. There aren't any turkeys on here either. Most amusing is that on several tracks the signing sounds as though it were done by Bryan Ferry. The opening and title track is a mission statement for the rest of the album. Check the band's website for samples of this album. If you liked Saga in its 'World's Apart' guise then its time for you to get reacquainted with the band. A pleasant and welcome surprise.

4/5

Marty's band, Growing Old Disgracefully, can be found at: Disgraceful Music. His Cthulhu tales can be found at Temple of Dagon.
