Williams turns down movie role

CMU reports the following relatively wise decision from Robbie "Yet to Break America" Williams. He is tryin so hard, dear boy, but not really getting very far.

Robbie Williams has turned down a £500,000 offer to play a gay man in a hit broadway musical. According to the ever reliable Daily Star, the singer is worried that if he takes the starring role in 'The Boy From Oz' it will fuel rumours he is gay. A source said: "Robbie was offered £55,665 a week for a 10-week run, but the character was blatantly homosexual and Robbie balked at that. There have been so many gay rumours surrounding him that he didn't want to get typecast as a gay character. He wants his first big role in America to be more macho."

Robbie, who is now based in Los Angeles, wants to break the US market but would only do so "in the right way". His agents have reportedly approached MGM studio bosses to see if they can get Robbie a part in the next James Bond movie....
