Terror Squad - True Story
Published September 13, 2004
Howdy pards. This here is my official, ok, not so official, ok, officially unofficial, review of the new, ok not SO new, but newest terror squad album, true story.
First song: fat joe & Remy Martin. This is like my whuteverth time listening to this album and I have to say that it's good. Remy can definitely spit, prolly the best rapper in the crew. And Joey Crack, shit, he's old skool, I remember him spittin on the box back in the day. Old skoolios in full effect, and shit, his recent r Kelly shit was hot, uh, fuck, whut? Not that him being old skool thus necessitates that this is a good album, hey, I mean, look at Rakim, ain't nobody handing him nothing right now and he was el hombre back in the dizzle, meaning, like janet said, what have you done for me lately?
Second song: oh yah, this is remy's track. She definitely rhymes tight, I mean tighter than an Eskimo's, er, something or other. and the beat, the track, is tight, but then when they do the "yeah yeah yeah" chorus line dillio it gets a little repetitive, but, I mean quibbles, ok, so yah, she supposedly has been kicking ass on all kine girl rappers on the battle scene all over the eastern sea board, and I'm sure serving plenny dudes as well, ok, well that's my review for song 2. it's good, in fact, quite. Joe crack, who accompanies her, has got a good flow himself, mos def, I mean, most definitely, not mos def the other rapper. Uh, yup.
"fuckin' with crack" that's a line. And it werks. Hey joe, you are an excellent rapper. You've got flow, clever clichés, the whole 9. You don't need me to tell you that. Actually though, you would prolly agree with me and support the theory, at least on the DL, that Remy could serve you if need be, cuz she's the lyrical lynchpin of the group, fa sho. Everybody else is serviceable, nay, more than serviceable, I mean Armageddon & Prospect definitely have their moments, but remy, hmmm, if she's handled correctly, and not forced to walk the "hi I'm a total slut" route that lil kim and foxy and whoevers seems to think that you have to strut in order to make it as a female mc, then, well, she could do some good shit. She gets dirty, sure, but it doesn't seem forced or over the top.
