The Tertiary Phase

After 25 years, the rest of the story will be told.
If all you ever knew about The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy came from the original BBC radio broadcasts, then you would have missed 3/5 of the story. The first part was broadcast in 1978 in seven episodes (six in March/April, plus a Christmas special), and the second was done in January 1980. Later, they were turned into the books The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. However, the last three books in the series (Life, The Universe And Everything, So Long And Thanks For All The Fish and Mostly Harmless) were not the written versions of the BBC adventures. They were never made into radio plays.
Until now...
Starting on September 21 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - The New Series with most of the original cast will be broadcast every Tuesday at 6:30pm GMT (that's 2:30pm for us U.S. East Coasters), with a repeat on Thursdays at 11pm. Each episode will be available online for 7 days after the Thursday rebroadcast. So, if you miss them, don't panic!

I'm watching the original series on video now. The acting is TERRIBLE, the special effects and props are ATROCIOUS. In short, the series is AWESOME. I wouldn't have it any other way. A completely ruinous masterpiece.

Excellent - thanks for the post
