Hurricane Frances was kind enough to spare my house from any major damage, but she did manage to knock out our power for over a week. Trust me when I say that managing to fall asleep without air conditioning in Florida during the summer is no easy task (at least without first consuming large quantities of beer as a "sleep aid")...

Boy, Bush sure got himself a nice little bounce from the RNC, didn't he? Of course, the liberal media wanted us all to believe that there simply wasn't room for that kind of movement in an electorate with so few remaining undecideds. Or, at least that was their excuse when Kerry gained no ground after his little shindig up in Boston...

Fans of the Detroit Lions: I have some good news, and some bad news. The good news is your team has started the season 1-0 and managed to break their 24-game road losing streak by beating the Chicago Bears 20-16 earlier today. The bad news is, your team's star receiver and star defensive back are already crippled for at least part of the season...

Yeah, I'm the same way. I actually tuned my battery-operated radio into a "dead" area of the AM band just so I could hear the static...
