New GnR in November?

If the rumors prove to be true, the new GUNS N' ROSES album, Chinese Democracy, will be hitting stores in November. Stories of the album's arrival have been around since 2000, but rest assured Chinese Democracy is coming and the band will be doing a tour in support. Bassist Tommy Stinson, who just released his first solo album, Village Gorilla Head, took a moment from promotion of the record to talk about one of the most eagerly anticipated rock albums, perhaps, ever. So what's been the 12 year delay' Stinson said a big reason was the member changes and the evolution of a new Guns N' Roses cast. "The real delay was just the way it went down. Having an eight person band to write a record is a daunting task to begin with, but to have it... to do it in a way where none of the guys have really been in the band that long together, and trying to pull in all those different influences from each band member to make a cohesive songwriting thing, It takes time." Stinson said he'll be touring through November, and then will head into the studio for what will be rehearsals for a Guns N' Roses tour.

This bit of GnR gossip is via Hard News. Probably about as likely to happen as my band having a number one on the UK charts but one never knows.

Marty's band, Growing Old Disgracefully, can be found at: Disgraceful Music. His Cthulhu tales can be found at Temple of Dagon.

I will believe it when I see it. Axl is WAY off his rocker...he is a classic case of believing your own press. I hear they spent a year looking for a new kfc bucket for their now departed lead guitarist to wear on the album cover ;).

It could be too late for GnR to make any sort of commercial splash, even if they do release this in November.

I am noticing a resurgence of 80's rock acts though so maybe this timing is appropriate. I don't think they would have done well if they released this in the late 90's.

I think it depends on whether its good or not. If it is good then he will be forgiven...anything less or he will be eviscerated. There is obviously interest in GnR's type of music considering the success of Velvet Revolver.

i'd rather buy the Minogue 'jazz' record.

I think that a lot of people have had faith, but that it has been so damn long of a wait, patience can only go so far!

guns n roses is so gay. I hate them axl rose dances like a gorilla on ecstacy. if the guy could actually sing. the music would still suck. i would rather listen to the sound of mating donkeys. he makes up the most stupid songs names ive ever heard. like estranged , november rain. what the crap is this guy doing and who does he think he is to go around cancelling shows like he is god. if i were his band i would have left too. love the axl hater juan
