Upcoming Election
Published August 23, 2004
This November 2, 2004. We are going to be blessed with another choice that I'm pretty sure we will hear about until we are old and gray...THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
After this election, I'm sure there is going to be a lot of difference...First, hopefully we won't have to hear about how much our current president solely screwed up with this war. This just bugs me cause most of the people that are complaining about him, are the ones sitting at home all day complaining that they can't find a job. As of last March, the U.S. unemployment was at the same rate that it was when Clinton started to campaign in 1996 for presidency. It is also at the lowest rate since January 2001. So everytime that you start hearing Kerry campaing against Bush's raising the nation's unemployment, just ignore him..
If you are a viewer of Colin Quinn's Tough Crowd on Comedy Central, you might of heard this one...A guest on there made a comment about Kerry and his wife's owning Heinz ketchup. One of the other guests asked what everyone thought was going to be Kerry's last stance and effort to sway our votes. We haven't seen him in any commercials advertising himself, so the comment was that Kerry "will on the week before the elections, come on tv and say that his wife is going to retire and disband the Heinz franchise unless he is elected office."
This kind caught me off-guard. I hadn't before really thought about the whole "obsession" that this country has with ketchup. If this isn't a way for a Presidential Candidate to sway some votes his way, I don't know what else he would do. As a Republican-Independant, and a mustard user, this wouldn't upset me much.
We bought a bottle of ketchup to use when making meatloaf when we moved to Oklahoma, and thats about all it got used. But as a wide supporter for Heinz 57, that magical blend of spices, I would be outraged. But as I would vote for Nader if he's still running, even though in Oklahoma you can't vote for a independant, for some assinine reasoning, I think I'm going to vote for Bush. This isn't based on Politics, Past war experiences, Family History and/or Connections to Terrorist Families, Past Government Leadership Skills
No none of those reasons. Just that fact that we would possibly see the face of Kerry representing the USA in other worlds just scares me. I mean, haven't you people realized that "Lurch" isn't a good look for a president....
This link is great, especially if you have any questions about who your voting for coming up....its unbiased, kinda, but is about as basic as you can get

On Chris Matthews last night they ran a tape of Kerry from the Dick Cavett show from 1971 - he looks better now
So far the best show this year, had to be the episode on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" when the guests were Michael Moore, Ralph Nader, Gov. Bill Owens, Rep. David Dreir, and former Canadian Prime Minister Kim Campbell. I'm not a big fan of Michael Moore, but he managed to steal the show, having Kim Campbell on his side did manage to help out a bit, but most was his not backing down from David Drier. Bil Maher's shows have always been out there pushing the buttons of the people at the moment, and this one continues to do that..
Heinz Kerry doesn't own Heinz Ketchup you goof. She barely owns 4% in stock which probably won't even get her in the door of the board room much less make any decent decisions about the company.

It is absolutely true, John Kerry is profoundly ugly. However, I must let you know nor he or his wife have anything to do with the Heinz ketchup empire. Teresa (who did get insanely rich off the Heinz empire) sold all of her Heinz interests out years ago. She has nothing to do with them.
If you dig educated and snarky political commentary, catch the Daily Show. It is on 30 minutes before the Quinn show. As for the Quinn show, those guys are mostly jackasses. The only good that comes out of that show is the genuine expression and release of racial tensions vicariously. I mean, Nick Depaulo is just a racist and homophobic ass... then the rest of the comics are always blacks and gays. Watch the sparks fly.
Vote Democrat, and take care
