New album releases, week of 8-18-2004
Published August 16, 2004
Mavis Staples has a new gospel album out on Alligator this week, Have a Little Faith. This is my most promising new pick of the week.
Also, you might count this first CD release of the first live Talking Heads album, the 1982 release The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads. Besides being the first time on CD, it has over half an hour of previously unreleased contemporary material, which is pretty much a whole new album.
Oh, and Travis Tritt has a new album out, if you care about modern commercial country. It features a duet with John Mellencamp. Whoopie.
