New York Dolls frontman David Johansen has told reporters his band will fulfil all upcoming tour commitments despite the recent death of bassist Arthur Kane. Having reunited for Morrissey's Meltdown Festival in London back in Jun, the band are also set to play a number of other festivals, including Belfast's Vital Festival on 25 Aug and the Reading and Leeds Festivals on 28 and 29 Aug.

The sudden death of bassist Arthur Kane so soon after the reunion led to speculation as to whether the band would wish to play those other dates. However Johansen told the New York Times this week the planned dates would go ahead with a replacement bass player, although no decision had been made regarding the long term future of the reformed band...

This bit of news comes via CMU.

Marty's band, Growing Old Disgracefully, can be found on: CD Baby His Cthulhu tales can be found at Temple of Dagon.

Gee willickers, are you implying that that's the replacement bass player? When there are only enough extant 70s NY punks to form one band, what will they call it?
