Hurricane Party are one of those bands that have gotten a break of lifetime. They have been signed to Sanctuary by none other than John Kalodner. This is their first realese for Sanctuary, and it's mostly a triumph. 'The Big Rock Show' is a bit weak; however the other 4 tracks are an excellent example of hard rock. The band are a bit like Skid Row on 'Killer', and Tesla on 'Last Survivor'. Live favourite 'Roadstar' makes an appearance on here and works just well as it does live. This release is very professional, and the band is as tight as many bands on their second album. HP prove with their live show and recorded music that they deserve their deal. I can't wait to see what they can do with a full length. Who says there aren't any decent British rock bands these days? The question is: can they do a Darkness and crack the US market.

Rating: 4.5/5

Marty's band, Growing Old Disgracefully, can be found at: Disgraceful Music. His Cthulhu tales can be found at Temple of Dagon.
