FOUR MORE YEARS OF HELL? LET'S CHECK THE STAR CHART.

I can't believe all the shit people are talking about Teresa Heinz Kerry. First there was the "Shove It" episode. More recently, there was the "Four more years of Hell" incident. And of course, the right-wingers can't stop talking about what a disgraceful First Lady she would make.

I don't know about that. At least she's not consulting an astrologer to plan her husband's schedule.

She's an unglued kook who believes the US is presently in "hell" and thinks her boy-toy war-criminal husband can lead us into a period of higher taxes, pandering to anti-American Frenchmen, and still defeat terrorists who are in Iraq.

She IS a campaign issue. She has made herself such, by her frequent outbursts.

She's a billionaire, foeign-born kook who says outrageous things and then immediately denies saying them, telling people to "shove it" while demanding that political life not stoop to such a level.

She marries Senators (yes, that's plural) and then pretends to speak the "little people" in an informed manner.

THK is not up to the job of First Lady. Such a position requires a modicum of grace and basic human decency. She is clearly left wanting.

she is a total nutcase. i just don't think it matters. in the grand scheme of things, the first lady is even more irrelevant than the vice-president. and if the republicans weren't upset about nancy's astrologer, they really should back off about teresa's mouth. besides, saying "four more years of hell" is nowhere near as bad as the veep telling another senator to go "fuck himself." and everyone just laughed that off as dick being dick.

Didn't you see the clips of THK using the word "hell" in response to hecklers?

Clearly it's not a belief in the way that Nancy Reagan truly believes in astrology, or John Aschroft truly believes that once Israel has all the land of Zion, Armageddon will occur and he'll go to heaven but I (and probably you) won't.

The nut jobs are on the right.

"The nut jobs are on the right."

Hal, the nut jobs are everywhere. Left, Right, whatever.

THK, sadly, is one of them. And she may be our next First Lady. (shudder)

If you think that THK is a nut job, RJ, you must think Cheney is a total berserker.

Don't you people have anything real to talk about?

The technique on this issue seems to have precedent:

"Repeat a lie a thousand times and it becomes the truth ..." - usually credited to Dr Joseph Goebbels, Propaganda Minister of the Third Reich

when i said she's a nutcase, i meant it in a loving way. i find her to be quite interesting, and a breath of fresh air in terms of recent first ladies.

i heard a clip of her "four more years of hell" line, and thought it was funny as hell.

however, in terms of nuttiness, her mouth is nothing compared to nancy's belief in astrology.

it seems to me that if THK is all the talk-shows have to rant about right now, they must be running out of substantive issues to focus on. "forget about kerry's record and stands on the various issues...how 'bout that nutty wife of his?"

if that's the best they've got, i think kerry just may pull this off.

she's an intelligent, strong woman with serious views -- can you imagine anything more threatening to the wacky social conservative right? it's really quite wonderful

You really have to laugh at some of the comments. I find those about her being some kind of left wing nut particularly interesting given the Republicans asked her to run for her deceased husbands Senate seat.

Frankly, I find the words "shove it" as a sign of class. I doubt many of us utter the words "shove it" when we are upset.

I would probably say "stick it" first. But only when I'm not having class. Definitely not when I'm a prospective first lady, on the record, with reporters.

...and after calling for more civility in politics, and then lying about what I said...

#12 — August 18, 2004 @ 09:18AM — Mark Saleski [URL]

rj, known for his descriptions of "john f*ing kerry", uses the word civility.

all blogcritics will now step aside so as to avoid the oncoming lightning bolt.

Is "John F***ing Kerry" supposed to be an insult? 'Cause it kinda makes him sound like a badass dude. Maybe it's intended as irony...?

#14 — November 3, 2004 @ 09:32AM — your mom

so what bush is a total faggot fucking bastard, who should burn in hell!
