...According to the NME, Hawkins was suffering from an upset tummy which doctors later diagnosed as "diarrhoea associated with abdominal pain and discomfort", thought to have been a bout of gastroenteritis.

In a statement the band said: "The Darkness have been forced to pull out of the Summersonic Festival in Japan this coming weekend due to illness. Justin Hawkins has been diagnosed with a bout of gastroenteritis and it has been recommended by his consultant to take at least one week to rest and recuperate before recommencing his busy work schedule."...

Elsewhere in Darkness news, and more bad luck for Justin. According to the Sun the singer found his £60,000 car on bricks earlier this week - someone having run off with the wheels. Hawkins told the paper: "I can't help feeling they've gone to fuel someone's crack addiction. I'm really gutted. I feel like weeping. They are worth a lot of money. I'm willing to offer a very generous reward for any information. Otherwise I won't be able to do my shopping."

This bit of Darkness news comes via CMU.
