DVD Releases For Week Beginning 02-08-2004
Published August 03, 2004
I gotta say, friends, this is among the worst weeks for DVD releases I have ever encountered. Lots of those 2-for-1 type deals what fling stuff like Solaris alongside One Fine Day, for some inexplicable reason.
I could, therefore, only come up with one recommendation this week, but since it contains seven flicks, I've actually gone over the allocated five.
Really, The Duke, you outdo yourself, is the worrying medical truth.
The Werner Herzog Collection is essential viewing, and that's all there is to it. See these lesser-known flicks from the director of Aguirre, Wrath Of God and Nosferatu (the seventies one), and realize why this demented genius was the only fella fit to tame Klaus Kinski for half a second.
The films in the set are;
The Enigma Of Kasper Hauser (1974)
Even Dwarfs Started Small (1970)
Lessons Of Darkness (1992)
Fata Morgana (1971)
Heart Of Glass (1976)
Little Dieter Needs To Fly (1997)
Stroszek (1977)
Here's the full run-down, folks, complete with occasional bouts of commentary from yours-truly, ie, The Duke.

What, no love for Jenny Garner in 13 Going On 30? The Duke likes little boys instead, is what!
Egads! PWinn, that right there is a slanderous bout of slander if ever was one. colour me shocked and/or stunned.
Heh.
Jadester, i tried, man, but those patent-office sons a bitches were having none of it. Loads of my phases are in the public domain on account of those fellas barbaric hostility, like these words i made up such as "the" and "and". I should be getting a dollar fifty every time they're used, but no, not a penny for The Duke.

The Duke (Aaron McMullan to his parents and the clergy) is a Northern Irish writer, performer and insomniac currently residing in London. He is the creator of

"...I believe, had a sex with Liza Minelli."
that's exactly what the world is missing, a beer called sex!
"what are you doin'?"
"watchin' the game, havin' a sex..."
you ought to copyright that idea, duke...
as for the releases, well it's about that time of year when videogame releases kinda dry up too. You got the games that didn't make their planned earlier dates that have now been slipped to around xmas time, and the games that actually won't be ready until xmas time, when it's all releases to the shops (and few survive the resultant massacre)
