Dowd - Kerry Convention Like Gilligan's Island

I'm not one to agree with Maureen Dowd all that often, but here is an excerpt from her upcoming Sunday Op-Ed piece:

"Given that the Kerry convention featured a skipper brave and sure, a first mate who makes others comfortable, a millionaire called "Lovey" by her spouse, two pretty young Kerry castaways and a movie star (the ubiquitously annoying Ben Affleck), I suppose we should be grateful that Camp Kerry didn't introduce the nominee with the "Gilligan's Island" theme song."

Hmm...

Howard Dean as Gilligan (after eating poisonous mushrooms)?

Ted Kennedy as the morbidly obese skipper?

Of course John Kerry and Teresa Heinz Kerry as the millionaire and his wife.

Ms. Edwards as Mary Ann?

Ben Affleck in drag as the movie star?

And Al Bore as the Professor?

Can we strand all these fuckers on an island for a few years?

If not, why not?

Sounds pretty good, but I don't think Gore has the requisite MacGuyver skills to handle the Professor role.
