The Day After...
America has become a nation I no longer recognize or understand. How did this happen? It has gone from a country that was once a leader of the world in terms of courage, tolerance and civility to one that seems...

Kerry Concession Speech - A Revealing Moment
Hopeful and strangely revealing concession speech by John Kerry. Here are some highlights and thoughts. John Edwards went first: "We will fight for every vote, even though the outcome won't change." "John Kerry is a great American" "Your cause...

We The People
The Bush Administration's enormous unpopularity overseas leads me to worry that the rest of the world will infer from this result something dark about the American people.

Time For Terry McAullife to "Move On"
According to Brokaw, this election was a "bloodbath" for Democrats. Will the DNC finally ask Chairman McAuliffe to step down?

Republican Country
Bush wins. Decency and intelligence lose. What choice remains for progressives? Fight or flee.

World Reacts
Interesting reponses from around the world on the Bush victory. The positive: Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi saw Bush's victory as bolstering the U.S.-declared "war on terror." ....Putin said victory for Bush meant the United...

Kerry Concedes
Kerry concedes, Bush wins, the next four years begins: Kerry's decision was relayed to NBC News by a senior adviser, who said the senator had phoned Bush to concede and would make a concession speech at 1 p.m. Wednesday. According...

You Say It's My Birthday?
For my 37th birthday I've received the re-election of Dubya to the White House. People complain about it if their birthdays are near Christmas. I know, my Mom's is, and while she's never said a word, I'm pretty sure it's...

What anagrams teach us about this election
There is truth in anagrams dear friends, and we would be neglectful bloggers not to to open our eyes to it. An anagramical dissection of "early exit polls" may indeed reveal what went wrong. Perhaps we should have "let a...

Morality and American politics
From the inside flap of "Moral Politics" by George Lakoff "Lakoff argues, the issues dividing Americans are not mere matters of partisanship, but arise from radically different conceptions of morality and ideal family life-meaning that family and morality are at...

thanks Jason! It's a good way to follow along in chronological order, and with it all in one place you can spot trends and relationships between stories and themes you might not have otherwise noticed
Eric- I'll second the note of thanks, with a special appreciation for a pic of Badnarik that is standard fare rather than one of him blowing his nose or the like. The Nader image is his own, so nobody could get too riled about it, but it looks like a Gary Numan album cover to me.
we strive to be ecumenical!
Great set of info re the US election. The Australian elections are on soon too - I still think it's more a plague on both their houses type of thing in both countries!
thanks gg2, I am certain Australians are doing a much better job of following our elections than we are of yours
Eric:
I just added a link to this page onto my site, like you requested. EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS!
Thanks, and that would be great. Certainly everyone who has written posts linked from this master post would benefit greatly from as much traffic going to it as possible.
Who are we to believe on the conditions in Iraq? A man who is risking his life every minute of the day who lives there (Allawi) and is the Prime Minister, or a man running for president that would benefit by worsening conditions(JFK)?
everyone has an angle, including Allawi, but that is not an unresonable question
Have any of you guys seen the new Bushisms DVD? I just bought it from www.bushism.net. It looks pretty funny. Al Franken and Brian Unger are it. Any comments?
thanks Helmut, I'll add it to the Amazon list above
I just linked to this page again in another post to my site. EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS!
thanks RJ, I agree
and by everyone, we mean everyone who owns a computer
it is most definately a good source, thanks for the compilation Eric!
This is, in fact, a wonderful source for issues, personalities and the important things we need to consider at this time. It has been wonderfully put together and should serve as a model for the future.
Claire
thanks Claire, much appreciated!
You suck

Eric, this compilation is a great resource site - thanks!
