The Sun Will Come Out
President Bush won fair and square, and while the outcome may be disappointing to many of us, this is democracy. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

An Open Letter to the Democratic Party: As I watch the pundits do post-mortems on the 2004 election from my home state of Ohio, I can't help but be somewhat bemused. I'm located in a strongly Republican county in Northeast...

Is there moral value in truth?
At this moment I am having great difficulty feeling a part of the mainstream society in the United States of America. I don't feel threatened; I don't see any issues arising that I'd be personally incapable of handling. But I've...

Morality
Approximately 1 of 5 voters on Tuesday named moral issues as their top concern in the Presidential election. Almost 80% of those people voted for George Bush. This is astounding. How does George W. Bush have "better morals" than John...

Just one more (brief) point...
One of the least talked about, but most alarming aspects of the Bush administration is, in my opinion, its complete antipathy towards science. The fact that the US president - the most powerful man in the world - said during...

Eric, this compilation is a great resource site - thanks!

#2 — September 11, 2004 @ 18:46PM — Eric Olsen

thanks Jason! It's a good way to follow along in chronological order, and with it all in one place you can spot trends and relationships between stories and themes you might not have otherwise noticed

Eric- I'll second the note of thanks, with a special appreciation for a pic of Badnarik that is standard fare rather than one of him blowing his nose or the like. The Nader image is his own, so nobody could get too riled about it, but it looks like a Gary Numan album cover to me.

Great set of info re the US election. The Australian elections are on soon too - I still think it's more a plague on both their houses type of thing in both countries!

#6 — September 13, 2004 @ 09:52AM — Eric Olsen

thanks gg2, I am certain Australians are doing a much better job of following our elections than we are of yours

Who are we to believe on the conditions in Iraq? A man who is risking his life every minute of the day who lives there (Allawi) and is the Prime Minister, or a man running for president that would benefit by worsening conditions(JFK)?

#10 — September 23, 2004 @ 19:24PM — Eric Olsen

everyone has an angle, including Allawi, but that is not an unresonable question

Have any of you guys seen the new Bushisms DVD? I just bought it from www.bushism.net. It looks pretty funny. Al Franken and Brian Unger are it. Any comments?

This is, in fact, a wonderful source for issues, personalities and the important things we need to consider at this time. It has been wonderfully put together and should serve as a model for the future.
