Got governor?
Each time a candidate seemed to have momentum, a new round of vote counting changed that perception.

On the Border
Usually the immigration debate revolves around the issues of economics, respect for law, social services, civil liberties, and the like as armies of illegal Mexicans slip across the border looking for work and a better life. But there is...

Nightmare
Just after election day 2004, George W. Bush woke the next morning to a bright sunny day. It was a stupendous day and he — even at 58 — had a morning wood! It was a fabulous feeling. He was...

Next
So now the American Democrats and literati have mostly finished licking their little wounds and apparently have decided not to migrate up here after all due to a little cold and snow in Ottowa, one supposes. Eventually, the question...

Why did Bush Flip/Flop in the gay marriage issue just before the election?
For those of you that don't know this, Bush has changed his stance, so would call it a Flip-Flop, on the Gay Marriage issue. Recently he said it should be a state issue. This goes against the Republican party platform....

The Myth of the Religious Right
Leftists are spinning President George Bush's re-election that the United States is about to be taken over by Christian fundamentalists. Not only is this claim bogus, but it is a facile excuse to cover-up the electoral shortcomings of the Democrats....

thanks Jason! It's a good way to follow along in chronological order, and with it all in one place you can spot trends and relationships between stories and themes you might not have otherwise noticed
Eric- I'll second the note of thanks, with a special appreciation for a pic of Badnarik that is standard fare rather than one of him blowing his nose or the like. The Nader image is his own, so nobody could get too riled about it, but it looks like a Gary Numan album cover to me.
we strive to be ecumenical!
Great set of info re the US election. The Australian elections are on soon too - I still think it's more a plague on both their houses type of thing in both countries!
thanks gg2, I am certain Australians are doing a much better job of following our elections than we are of yours
Eric:
I just added a link to this page onto my site, like you requested. EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS!
Thanks, and that would be great. Certainly everyone who has written posts linked from this master post would benefit greatly from as much traffic going to it as possible.
Who are we to believe on the conditions in Iraq? A man who is risking his life every minute of the day who lives there (Allawi) and is the Prime Minister, or a man running for president that would benefit by worsening conditions(JFK)?
everyone has an angle, including Allawi, but that is not an unresonable question
Have any of you guys seen the new Bushisms DVD? I just bought it from www.bushism.net. It looks pretty funny. Al Franken and Brian Unger are it. Any comments?
thanks Helmut, I'll add it to the Amazon list above
I just linked to this page again in another post to my site. EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS!
thanks RJ, I agree
and by everyone, we mean everyone who owns a computer
it is most definately a good source, thanks for the compilation Eric!
This is, in fact, a wonderful source for issues, personalities and the important things we need to consider at this time. It has been wonderfully put together and should serve as a model for the future.
Claire
thanks Claire, much appreciated!
You suck

Eric, this compilation is a great resource site - thanks!
