Democratic Voter Intimidation In North Carolina
According to FoxNews, there have been some improprieties in North Carolina: Diane Thomas, a self-employed author and Web site builder who is a registered Republican, said she voted at the Steel Creek Library (search) in Charlotte on Tuesday. A poll...

THE ROAD FROM ABU GHRAIB TO ELECTION DAY
When it comes to the Abu Ghraib torture scandal, the editorial page of The New York Times has been especially strong in condemning the White House and the Pentagon. My take was that "nobody has said it better." Well, maybe...

Bush officials hold hunger report
Over eleven percent of households lacked sufficient food in 2002, up from over ten percent in 2001.

Vicious Sheep
Print popup The "Bush Conservatives" - I can't call them Republicans because that would be a slander on a respectable party and on friends of mine - have no morals, no ethics, no compassion - nothing matters except that they...

Hydrogen power and Bush
Let me first say that caring about your environment does not make you a leftist. Not caring about it simply makes you an idiot. Second, 1.2 billions dollars toward developing hydrogen fueled cars is like having enough money to buy...

The Bin Laden tape
The Bin Laden tape I feel compelled to speak on this issue, but you will hear it spun every which way this weekend. What we see in the tape is that Bin Laden is alive and well. His arms are...

Osama tells us how to beat terrorism
Does anyone see the problem here? See, there are two lines of thinking when it comes to our "war" on terror. Bush is for bringing the fight to the enemy — on their soil — with tanks, guns and 100,000...

Is it 1948 All Over Again
In 1948, Harry S. Truman was a considerable underdog. The previous congressional election saw Republicans taking over the Congress and now Truman appeared besieged. Within his own party, many Southern Democrats left the party due to Truman support for integration...

Inarticulate GOP Voters
So, I have a question: Are all of the children that were "left behind" now Republicans? It doesn't seem to me that should be the case, but with all these polls I have to wonder??? I pose this question for...

Eric, this compilation is a great resource site - thanks!

#2 — September 11, 2004 @ 18:46PM — Eric Olsen

thanks Jason! It's a good way to follow along in chronological order, and with it all in one place you can spot trends and relationships between stories and themes you might not have otherwise noticed

Eric- I'll second the note of thanks, with a special appreciation for a pic of Badnarik that is standard fare rather than one of him blowing his nose or the like. The Nader image is his own, so nobody could get too riled about it, but it looks like a Gary Numan album cover to me.

Great set of info re the US election. The Australian elections are on soon too - I still think it's more a plague on both their houses type of thing in both countries!

#6 — September 13, 2004 @ 09:52AM — Eric Olsen

thanks gg2, I am certain Australians are doing a much better job of following our elections than we are of yours

Thanks, and that would be great. Certainly everyone who has written posts linked from this master post would benefit greatly from as much traffic going to it as possible.

Who are we to believe on the conditions in Iraq? A man who is risking his life every minute of the day who lives there (Allawi) and is the Prime Minister, or a man running for president that would benefit by worsening conditions(JFK)?

#10 — September 23, 2004 @ 19:24PM — Eric Olsen

everyone has an angle, including Allawi, but that is not an unresonable question

Have any of you guys seen the new Bushisms DVD? I just bought it from www.bushism.net. It looks pretty funny. Al Franken and Brian Unger are it. Any comments?

#12 — September 30, 2004 @ 14:29PM — Eric Olsen

thanks Helmut, I'll add it to the Amazon list above

This is, in fact, a wonderful source for issues, personalities and the important things we need to consider at this time. It has been wonderfully put together and should serve as a model for the future.
