Love Is the Answer

If the question is, who is the most publicly fucked up celebrity?

Courtney Love sentenced to rehab:

Courtney Love was sentenced Tuesday to 18 months in drug rehab, closing one chapter in a troubled saga that began when she was accused of trying to break into her ex-boyfriend's home while high on cocaine.
"Casey Jones, you'd better/watch your speed/trouble ahead, trouble behind"

Superior Court Judge Patricia M. Schnegg gave the rocker until Oct. 29 to enroll in a drug counseling program, which will require frequent drug testing. She will be permitted to travel, but will be barred from taking non-prescription drugs, drinking alcohol or being in places that serve alcohol.

"I have to stop drinking. That's funny," Love said outside court, firing up a cigarette. "I think I can do it."

...."Thank you," she told the judge when it was over.

Love was arrested in October after she allegedly tried to break into the home of former manager and boyfriend Jim Barber. Authorities said cocaine and other opiates were found in her system.

Cocaine isn't an opiate.
A series of charges followed: possessing illegal painkillers, assault, reckless endangerment, attacking someone with a liquor bottle. Then there were escapades like strange courtroom statements, allowing herself to be photographed with her nipple in a stranger's mouth and flashing her breasts on David Letterman's TV show.

Assistant City Attorney Jerry Baik said Tuesday's sentence was negotiated under a plea agreement with Love's attorneys. She pleaded guilty May 25 to a misdemeanor count of being under the influence of a controlled substance and agreed to enter a treatment program.

....Love still faces a felony case in Beverly Hills Superior Court for allegedly possessing illegal painkillers. She could face up to three years and eight months in prison if convicted of possessing hydrocodone and oxycodone.

Last month, Love was arraigned in New York City on charges of assault and reckless endangerment for allegedly striking a fan with a microphone stand at an East Village club in March. She was scolded by the judge for showing up more than five hours late.

The most recent case involves an April 25 incident in which she allegedly attacked a 32-year-old woman with a liquor bottle at Barber's Los Angeles home. A bench warrant for her arrest was issued earlier this month after she failed to appear for an arraignment. [AP]

Strictly enforced rehab is the best thing for her and for society. Clean that bitch up.

By the way, I think "Mono" rocks - not digging those new lips, though.

You just know this is all just prep work for a teevee reality show which crosses "Cops" with "American Idol", and it will be hosted by Ozzy and Shaarrrr-on!

This looks to me like it might be OK to call cocaine an opiate. Anyways, her music certainly is one.

Main Entry: 1opi·ate
Pronunciation: 'O-pE-&t, -"At
Function: noun
1 : a preparation (as morphine, heroin, and codeine)
containing or derived from opium and tending to induce sleep and to alleviate pain
2 : a synthetic drug capable of producing or sustaining addiction similar to that characteristic
of morphine and cocaine : a narcotic or opioid peptide —used especially in modern law

It is ironic you reference the Grateful Dead. Courtney's dad was a roadie for them and Courtney as a young baby is actually on the back of a Grateful Dead record... which is Aoxamoxoa

anyhow, I used to dig her music. Then I realized the good stuff was written by Kurt and Billy Corgan. After she published Kurt's diaries and sold the rights' to Time (anyone remember the great Cobain shirt 'corporate magazines still suck'). It was then I realized she is the devil. I am entranced though, ever since I saw her nekkid in Larry Flynt. Truth be told, she is on my dead pool this year, and will be next year too. Keep it up Courtney -

Yes, I am attuned to the great subconscious. I have held out hope for her but that hope has faded over the last year. Let's see how this rehab sticks
