They (Israel) gave up Gaza. Really? When did that happen? 'Cause it was only last week that they were still expanding the settlements. That was remarkably quick work evacuating 8,000 settlers out of 40% of Gaza in less than a week.

"But every drolling anti-Semite opposes the wall." Well, some of them don't even know what the wall is. I think you're assuming a certain ethnic group makes up all anti-Semites. They come in all flavors and sizes, including American.

Well, I'll choose Israel over the UN anytime. That being said... You are bhw, as usual, sorta right. Not everyone who opposes the Israeli wall is a drooling anti-Semite. But every drolling anti-Semite opposes the wall. "Not every Democrat was a Rebel. But every Rebel was a Democrat!" (Cheers and Applause) Ah, history. It's so relevent today...

I think the UN and Israel disagree over what is and isn't an occupied territory.

All of the West Bank is in Israel. That's why it is called the "occupied terrotories." They gave up Gaza. They are building a defensive perimeter that goes slightly beyond the pre-1967 boundaries. So what? My heart bleeds for the poor Palestinians...(the same people who danced when SCUDs rained down on Jewish houses in 1991 and when the terrorists killed 3,000 Americans in 2001...)

Opponents to the wall talk about the fact that it is being built on occupied territory, that it is punishing law-abiding Palestinians, etc. I think an international law organization recently declared the wall illegal. I understand why Israel is building the wall. I just haven't decided if it's the right thing to do. If it is, it does seem like it's not being done legally. Seems like if you want to build a wall, you should have to build it on your own soil. As for protesters who protest the wall and not terrorists, silence on one issue doesn't necessarily mean anything. Again, the Israeli Jews who oppose the wall are unlikely to support terrorism, but yet they still protest the wall.

Fair enough. Some Israeli Jews might oppose it for rational reasons. (I don't know what those would be, though...) But if you make your entire protest all about that wall (here in the US), you must really dislike that particular structure. Why would that be? Because it makes it more difficult for the terrorists to kill innocent Jews? Because they simply want attention? I don't know. Maybe they aren't anti-Semitic. I don;t know what is in their hearts. But shouldn't they also be protesting the mass-murder of innocent Jews as well? I mean, that is certainly more damaging that a wall built to protect against terrorist attacks, right?

Opposing a physical structure has nothing to do with hatred of an entire people. Some anti-Semites surely oppose the wall. But all who oppose the wall are not anti-Semites. It's really pretty simple.

Though I agree with you, you'll likely get attacked by some for calling those protestors "anti-Semites." I mean, just because they oppose the Jewish state of Israel peacefully defending itself from lunatic homicide-bombers doesn't mean they have anything against Jews, right? ;)
