If their CD jewel case was made by the lowest bidder, I'm gonna call them on it in the review. Moreover, while listening to their CD, if I really do start wondering if the band actually likes their own music, I'm going to mention that too. ]]> 81544@blogcritics.org Wed, 25 Aug 2004 09:57:08 EDT http://blogcritics.org/archives/2004/07/26/142425.php#comment-81518 opinions are good. although i try to stay away from personal attacks on individual members personalities and preferances, its still good to get another perspective. you just have to learn to look past the obvious anger that is common in certain genres of music criticism, because it serves a purpose. some people just communicate better through sarcasm and wit. i think that we all remember that kid from class. well, that kid grew up and his vocabulary extended exponentially. extremes are always a good thing to examine. that way you learn to recognize them everywhere and stear clear. it would just as bad to say, "that lovedrug record was pretty neat-o" as a review. not enough and too much. opinion. some people definitely have scene anxiety. it will reflect in the attitude they take towards certain approaches to the worldwide religion of music. the guy who reviewed this record and some of the people that commented on it are extremists, but they offer challenges to musicians everywhere....the challenge to live beyond the irrational fear of rejection. when it comes to music, the only person to please is yourself.
