Teresa Heinz Kerry Lies, Tells Reporter To "Shove It"
Published July 26, 2004
Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Democratic nominee John Kerry, told a reporter to 'shove it' on Sunday evening — immediately after giving a speech calling for a more civil tone in politics.Speaking to the Pennsylvanian delegation at the statehouse in Boston, Heinz Kerry delivered an impassioned plea against hate politics:
"We need to turn back some of the creeping, un-Pennsylvanian and sometimes un-American traits that are coming into some of our politics."
She then denied saying this, and verbally attacked a reporter, telling him to "shove it."
Drudge provides a link to video of the incident here.
Can anyone imagine Laura Bush doing something like this? Could the Dem's convention week possibly have gotten off to a worse start than this?

Can anyone imagine Laura Bush doing something like this?
Yes.
Actually, I can't see Bush doing this, but I'm not sure what bearing that has on anything. It's a matter of personality and not much of a reflection on anything but that.
Man, that's almost as bad as your little half-wit, *air-headed daughter sticking her tongue out at an army of reporters.
(*She couldn't help it, tho: See "Genetics" for more)
Nyx- I suspect that Cheney cussing out another politician wouldn't be perceived as badly as berating a reporter. For one thing, Leahy has been routinely making malicious accusations against his character.
More important though, Leahy is a senator, a powerful figure who can fight back. This doesn't look as bad as this uber-rich first-lady-in-waiting berating some reporter.
I don't know that this will make that much difference in actual votes, but her imperious and abusive tone could not contrast more badly with the classy and polite style of Laura Bush.
Also, how many stupid little international incidents could Miss Teresa spontaneously generate just by running her mouth to some diplomat during four years as White House hostess? This might be entertaining, but probably not what we need, huh?
Now, Shark might decide to be mad about a Bush daughter sticking out her tongue, but that's not the same thing. It's a silly young girl being cute, not a powerful political operator dressing someone down. Plus, I bet grandma had a piece of her for that. That behavior is definitely beneath their breeding.
Also, how many stupid little international incidents could Miss Teresa spontaneously generate in four years just by running her mouth to some diplomat during four years as White House hostess?
None.
A first lady certainly isn't going to generate any more trouble than George Bush Jr.'s running off at the mouth. "Axis of Evil"? Very diplomatic that.
In fact, I also seem to recall Bush berating a reporter or two...
There is no issue here. Try again after Teresa Hienz Kerry says something to the effect of "people need to watch what they say".
is it possible to get blisters from grasping at straws?
Fox news reported that a Kerry spokesperson said that it was a right-wing reporter who was always printing lies and misinformation about Kerry, and that Theresa got frustrated about it. IF that is true, that puts her on the same scale as Cheney in Al's comment above.
Frankly, she can say whatever she wants, and I'm not voting for Bush. Just like Cheney cussing someone out isn't going to be a determining factor in who I want to be the most powerful man in the free world, and who I feel is best capable of fighting the war on terror.
C'mon, everybody knows how crucial the wife of the figurehead of your country is to the maintenance of your government. Why the whole country would just fall apart unless the correct people were appointed to their ceremonial posts.
Now, just go about what ever it is you little vassels do and let the people who run things get on with whatever very important business it is they do.
Oh, and this "free world" guff, according to the New York Times, the cureent market price to buy the government of the USA is $300 million.
Since every US election has been bought and sold for more than 40 years, it would be refreshing to actually hear bid and ask calls instead of polls or "news".
the lady heinz should have told the right wing reporter shove it and then fuck himself. logistically that is the way it would work.
the democrats are making a big mistake by not making this convention a bush bashing event. you can be certain the republicans will be holding one big hatefest soon.
we dems can be such wimps sometimes.

I thought it was a female reporter. If so maybe it was a dyke code term for "meet me in the room at mid-night with a vibrator and some lube".
the reporter is a man. that does not stop him from being a "dyke" though.

the reporter was a man...who apparently misquoted her. it annoyed her and she came back and told him to shove it.
man, i saw this on entertainment tonight where even they were spinning the bejesus out of the incident..."lost control", "outburst"...blah, blah, blah.
let the games begin.
The reporter was half right. The phrase "un-American traits" was used. He only got the Un-American part. She got pissed when he pushed the issue. She souuld pay attention to her own speeches, but she should have just Cheneyed him with a hearty "Go fuck Yourself!!" The obnoxious, right-wing, fucked-up, sorry-assed excuses for journalists and all of the rest of the fucking talking heads are as un-American as you can get.
Take back America before these cocksuckers get us all killed.
Comment#1 "Didn't the Vice President tell someone to "Go fuck yourself"? Do we really want that man in the Whitehouse?"
Who really gives a shit. They're humans who curse and raise hell like everyone else.
No matter what our beleifs, have we not all told somebody to "Fuck Off"?
Maybe Teresa and Dick will wander off together after a few gin and tonics and spray paint "MOB RULES" on the bi-partisan walls together.
i can't imagine laura bush doing anything...and by anything
i mean......anything.
jack
I don't consider myself a fuddy-duddy, but I'd really like all of these people- Bush, Cheney, Kerry, Heinz-Kerry, the Bush girl- to begin acting like they are associated with the highest offices in the United States.
The question of our standing in the world has fairly been raised, pointing to loutish American behavior. So, why can't Kerry restrain himself from saying 'fuck' in interviews? Why can't Heinz-Kerry restrain herself from telling a doofus reporter to 'shove it' even if she thinks she's off-camera? Why can't Bush refrain from calling someone an 'asshole', even if he thinks it's off-mic? The Bushes and Kerrys know that the mics are always on around them, and they should conduct themselves accordingly. Are they incapable of dignified behavior? They need to be more more dignified and Presidential, as befits high office.
If they can commit these kinds of silly faux paus, they can insult a foreign leader too, further damaging our standing.
I think our standing is more injured by the over-dropping of real bombs, not f-bombs.
"I think our standing is more injured by the over-dropping of real bombs, not f-bombs."
The world should have been REALLY pissed at us for that whole WWII thing then, right?
I said the "over-dropping" of real bombs.
So, some people might say that the two biggies dropped on Japan fit that category.
Do you really think our standing in the international community is more damanged by politicians who curse than it is by foreign policy?
I said the "over-dropping" of real bombs.
So, some people might say that the two biggies dropped on Japan fit that category.
Would those people have preferred an unspeakably-bloody invasion of the Japanese home islands instead?
Do you really think our standing in the international community is more damanged by politicians who curse than it is by foreign policy?
Of course not. The international community hates us because we have a foreign policy. It doesn't matter what that policy is. They'll disagree with it. Because we are the big dog, and they can't stand that.
Liberate Iraq and Afghanistan from brutal regimes? You're a war-monger!
Don't liberate Iraq and Afghanistan from brutal regimes? You have no concern over the plight of dark-skinned people, you rich, arrogant, ignorant American swine!
We can't fucking win.
Atom bomb bad. Firestorm decimation by 58,000 conventional bombs good.
Cheney was honest, Heinz-Kerry is a liar.
Vice President Chaney did what we all have done. Ms. Heniz-Kerry is worth a billion dollars do you think she gives a rats ass about what we think?
WAKE UP AMERICA............
Will Rogers said he never met a man he didn't like. Of course he never met John Kerry. Go to Viet Nam Veterans against Kerry. His daughter is their in her see through dress. Nice...alright judge for yourself. So much for family values......
And all this above is nice reasoned discourse? Whew. Yawn. This is politics on Blogcritics? Not a reasoned comment above, period.
And what have Vietnam Vets for or against Kerry got to do with posting a picture of Alexandra Kerry?
Creepy, No? I just added these last sentences so I would fit right in here.
What's the saying, If you can't beat them, try try again?
I actually find this thread rather amusing, though reasoned discourse it is not. Of course the post itself is hardly about reasoned discourse, so the comments might be exactly apt
You little people are such fools. That is why you refuse to bow when I speak. You will get yours, you idiots. John & I know what is best for you peasants even though you do not. We long so for the good days, the European days of elegance when royalty was respected. Ants!!! Insects!!! Middle class riff-raff. You make fun of us because we do not pay taxes on my $3.2 billion in assets. You make fun of us because we pay the bare minimum of 0.983% in taxes on my $80M/yr income while I support a 30% tax on any family earning over $100,000. You ignorant scum. I suport the outsourcing of all the Heinz manufacturing plants and their thousands of jobs so that my income will grow even more while my husband tells you about all the bad outsourcing plotted by evil US corporations. Worship me and my waned beauty or I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too!
I think Senator Kerry's wife should take some of her money and get a makeover or at least buy a hair brush. She could not come close to Mrs. Bush or representing America.
