HEART
(Epic/Legacy)
Normally looking back at music you remembered all those years back, is not that pleasant experience. Quite often you wonder why the hell you liked something all those years ago. In the case of Heart's early albums I find myself in the opposite position. This stuff is far better than I ever remember it. The Zeppelin meets Free rock sounds wonderful remastered. In fact, one of the bonus tracks is the band's live cover of 'Strairway to Heaven' which sounds better than the original Ann's voice seems far most suited to it than Plant's. On these recent essential recordings of 70's-era Heart you get at least two bonus unreleased tracks (from the time period) as well as comments on the songs from the ladies themselves and expanded liner notes. Needless to say that if you have been waiting to replace your vinyl versions of these three albums this would be a very good time to do so. Excellent re-mastered reissues from an excellent band. What is there not to like? Go get em' and enjoy.
