The Dark Secret
Rhapsody
(SPV)

This is a taster EP for their forthcoming full-length CD. What a way of getting interest. This five track CD (there is a limited edition with a bonus DVD) features Chrisopher Lee on the title track. It has to be said that having the great man on a disc from a band that claims its music is "epic Hollywood metal" is rather appropriate. Rhapsody deliver power metal at its most ott and prog-like. The subject matter is myths, legands, monsters, and magic. It's good fun and has its place. If you like Rhapsody there is enough on here to keep you happy. If you aren't yet familiar this with this lot, but like power metal, then you can do worse than try this taster to see if you like. Decent music and good value, what is there not to like?

Rating: 4/5

Marty's band, Growing Old Disgracefully, can be found at: Disgraceful Music. His Cthulhu tales can be found at Temple of Dagon.
