Shut up, Trump!

So
Donald Trump would like to fire President Bush
. I guess when you're rich and famous, you must suffer delusions of being able to talk all sorts of rubbish and sound like someone who actually cares more about the nation than your bank accounts, Trump, because you're not sounding knowledgeable or concerned, just plain obnoxious is all.

When I was last Stateside, in April, I remember my mother urging me to watch "The Apprentice." I brushed off the suggestions.

"Who wants to watch that arrogant rich asshole firing people?" I asked. "Sounds like a waste of a good half-hour to me." How relieved I am that I did not contribute to that show's ratings numbers.

Listen, Trump: For all your billions, you have no control over who the president is or what his policies are. So why don't you shut the hell up and make some more people redundant (and, of course, blame Bush for the unemployment figures while you're at it)?

Listen, Trump: For all your billions, you have no control over who the president is or what his policies are.

Being as rich as he is, he has far more influence and control over who the president is than you or I do.

And why do you feel he does not have the right to want to fire the president? If being rich automatically removed one from the political process, there would be nobody in Congress (which, actually, might not be a bad thing these days).

Hal, I'm so glad to see you're back!

While you were gone, the "Etc" part of the site sorta turned into "FOXCritics.org".

I would like to see an actual statistical count of, say, the last week and see how many posts would be characterized as leaning left vs. leaning right. I am guessing it's very close - I am rather weary of both sides claiming that Blogcritics is dominated by the other.

Blogcritics is run by the Trilateral Commission.

Shark: "Trying to hit the old 'Leaderboard', are ya?"

I try in your honor, Sharkie, me ol' mucker.

Wow, I must admit, it is interesting to watch members of the BC far(-out) Left defend the mega-rich and arrogant Trump, who they'd normally consider part of the problem. Funny the alliances and bedfellows that get made just because somebody bashes Bush.

Wrong as usual, MEM.

Trump and Wolfowitz have equal rights, is all.

Count on Hal to tell it like it is.

Furthermore, considering the inherited wealth the Bushes take for granted, Mark Manning is comparing Granny Smiths to Golden Delicious. Rich people in both cases.

And, yes, some conservatives, including Trump, are becoming fed up with Bush. It is not because they disagree with him on economic or most political issues. It is because they are tired of being lied to. The daily revelations about our adventure in Iraq are too much for even them to stomach.

Wow. I got censored again by the Comment Censor Czar.

Lemme try again.

Dear Manning,

Great post! Excellent essay! There are few things more interesting, educational, or enlightening than an imaginary personal conversation between a writer and a marginalized rich guy in New York.

"Shut up, Trump!" ~Who would have had the intelligence or originality to have thought of that?!

The intellect! The insight! The illumination you've provided the BC readers is greatly appreciated, and not only is it a constructive way to use local bandwidth, but it's yet another valuable contribution to the ongoing and constantly rising quality of this site.

You're giving RJ Elliott some hefty competition relative to quality and originality of essays.

Congratulations, and I hope you continue to grace us with your brilliant intellectual analysis!

Shark, the point is to criticize a specific post specifically for its specific presumed faults, not to extrapolate the presumed faults of a post out to the writer, or to impugn the motivations or intelligence of a given writer/member. It's fine to say "I don't like this post for thus and so reason" but not to say "This writer/member sucks just like the other writer/member who sucks equally hard."

Shark, perhaps if you didn't deride every single blog entry that you don't personally agree with for not being a long-winded, high-falutin' "essay" in such grand, high-minded fashion, thus calling the blogger in question out for being a writer of shoddy quality - which comes off as sounding very personal and insulting in nature - then you would stand a much higher chance of not getting censored.

Just trying to help.
