Odessey and Oracle - the Zombies' great 1968 "lost album"

This album was so of its time that the misspelled title made it all the way to the finished product.

The Zombies had a hit with their great 1965 song, She's Not There, but three years later, as they created Odessey and Oracle, they teetered on the brink of professional oblivion.

The original Zombies line-up didn't survive the album, alas.

The single off the album, Time of the Season, was released in 1969 and made it all the way to #3 on the charts.

In 1998, the 30th Anniversary Edition of Odessey and Oracle, frequently called Britain's version of Pet Sounds, came out.

It contains both the mono and stereo versions of the original album's 11 cuts and five bonus tracks, three previously unreleased.

Lots of dippy, trippy, hippie music here, including the wonderful Hung Up on a Dream.
