London's Nota Bene Destination Review is a very pricey ($455 for 10 issues a year) publication which alternates reviews of exotic resorts and fashionable cities, focusing on one in each issue.
The Financial Times recently asked the Nota Bene editors to quiz the concierges of five top Manhattan hotels (the Mandarin Oriental, the Carlyle, the Mercer, the Four Seasons, and 60 Thompson) on what they consider to be the finest, most exquisite places to shop, drink, and eat in New York.

Hottest new restaurant: Spice Market
Really good lounge bar: Temple Bar; Pravda; Stone Rose; Circa Tabac; Soho House
Cocktail hour: Sanctum at the Tribeca Grand; Schiller's Liquor Bar; Ritz-Carlton on Central Park South
Sunday brunch: Prune; 9th Street Market; Pastis
New Boutique: Bagutta Life; Resurrection; Steven Alan on Franklin; Scoop
The new "Kate Spade": Marc Jacobs; Rafe on Bleecker Street
