Dodgeball

Last night, I caught Dodgeball. I wasn't expecting much (as I know that some people downright hate the flick sight unseen), but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This was one of the funnier films I have seen in quite some time. Lowbrow, sophmoric funny, but I literally laughed hard enough to have a headache. For me, it wasn't so much of the main thrust, but all the throwaway lines as the movie progressed.
The nearest comparison that I can draw would be to Airplane. If you didn't like the one joke, don't worry, there will be another any second that you probably will.

My girlfriend and I went to see this, her thinking it would be awful, now it's one of her favorite movies ever considering how low her expectations were. I knew it would be funny. I used to love the Ben Stiller show, and I figured this might have something connected with it.
I wouldn't put in on par with Airplane in terms of style. It's not like Naked Gun, but it's a riot.

I haven't seen this yet, but every online trailer, and clips on the teevee have made me laugh out loud. Often.
Maybe because I hated murderball and gym class in school which has conditioned me to reflexively like almost anything with Ben Stiller, Rip Torn and Vince Vaughn in it.
I also really liked "The New Guy", but mainly because Lyle Lovett was in it (okay Eliza Dushku had something to do with it too).
However, since I only watch movies on DVD these days, I guess my opinion only really counts in about six months.
