About that song...

G.o.D.'s core got together at John's for another stab at finishing the demos that have been requested from us. After playing the guitar-complete tracks from Monday's session, John had a natter with both Rob and Tom about the music. In the TV room (to John's horror) Rob, Tom, and I were watching the Euro 2000 match.
Around 6:30 Tom buggered off for dinner and an evening out with the other half. Naturally John, Rob, and I decided to crack on in the studio. As with the last time we changed a song, I sort of sprung it on John and Rob. I have been thinking about changing the singing in the song. In the end, I got John (who protested his voice was shot) to sing the chorus and I would stick to verses. I think it worked rather well and adds to the vibe of the song. To make it even more interesting, we got Rob to sing the choruses as well. Turns out the blighter is not only a damn good bassist (especially considering how long he has been playing) but can bloody well sing as well. To boot, it's in a key that we don't already have in the band.
Next we got to get the vocals down on our two other demo tracks.
As far as my little vocal adventure, it is moving along. The fact I have my voice back and not suffering from the affects of pollen should make it more likely. We were fortunate to have torrential rain yesterday to dampen the pollen count.
Update: While keeping schtum to look after my throat I have been thinking about things. I have decided to use John's version of my song 'I Don't Care'. I find myself singing his musical version every so often. If its that catchy, it would be dumb to ditch the music. Truth be told as the reasons for my writing the track become more distant, I feel less need to sing it myself.
