... what you look like. Or at least show us a reasonable facsimile thereof.
Whilst reading Sister Outsider, I came across something recommended by author Anitra. Portrait Maker enables you, online, to make portraits of yourself or anyone you want. Now, the PM is a bit clumsy and time-consuming, but to fairly good effect: The self-portrait I created looks sorta like me when I take off the baseball cap and don't pin up the hair. It is pretty close.
But what's fun is trying out different clothing, different hand poses and accessories, hair colors (now I know I'm ready to go back to red), and so on.
Here are the ones I liked best:
Which makes me curious — what do you look like?
Take a visit to Portrait Illustration Maker, create a portrait in your likeness, and share it with us so I can post them at AF&O. Don't be shy — everyone is beautiful in their own way . If I can post my ugly mug (that's the real me at right; grab your barf bag!), you surely have nothing to fear.

Interesting.
I tried to do the icon thingy. Difficult. I will try again after my morning coffee and cigar. That usually helps.
I tried doing that a while ago.
None of the icons looked a thing like me.
Rats! Yeah, a lot of the faces are pretty darned generic-looking. Oh well then, you'll have to send a real pic.
There are plenty of pictures of me on my own website. I did put them there just to sate the curious reader's imagination, though I would rather people judge me on my writing than my looks.
Thanks, Natalie. Things like that are always nice to hear said. I second Indiana's would-be Senator, re: your photo: Al Barger: "the little icon thingy is mildly interesting, but your actual photo much more so. You appear to be a perfectly good looking woman ..."
ok, so i messed around with the portrait maker thing. it was tough, since your only choices for facial hair are 1. a little shadow 2. goatee and 3. two ferrets glued to your face.
anyway...here's the portrait with the goatee.
i don't have a current picture for comparison, but i'm workin' on it.
here's a picture from about five years ago when i was in the middle of growing my hair down to my lower back.
currently, it's very short (which is why there's the spiky hair in the portrait)
Yuck. What'd I tell you about the goatees, kids?
That Portrait Maker seems to be "what I'd want to look like if I weren't a mutant."
Stop flirting. It's gross.
That is all.
Bob, that propriety-police thing is a real kill-joy.
What'd I tell you about the goatees, kids?
Don't know. I wasn't listening.
Fine, fine. Have your fun on these sorts of topics. I won't bully you, I promise. Self-restraing makes the baby Jesus cry. As you were, kids. Get your flirt on.
Mr. Booey: What flirting?
Mark S: I prefer the real pic to the icon.
thanks nat...though that was several years ago...scary new photo (w/ more gray hair) coming soon.

Miss Natalie, the little icon thingy is mildly interesting, but your actual photo much more so. You appear to be a perfectly good looking woman- who has also peaked our interests through the pure force of personality. Please favor us with more and bigger photos. Thanks.
