Things are messed up alright. Back in the 60's, people took acid to make the world wierd. Now the world is wierd and people take Prozac to make it normal. What to do? What to do? America's always been scared. In the 50's there were bomb shelters in the back yards and nuclear attack drills in the classroom. By helping to end the cold war, Reagan saved us from commies and their big bombs. Now it's Bush, in a not-near-as-effective way, trying to save us from Islam and their big bombs. Here we go round the mulberry bush. ]]>

Mother Theresa was a man. I don't know what to tell you, boomcrash. America is pre-war Germany right now. People are scared and thinking poorly. What happens on BC is a microcosm of world at large. People are quick to throw names, the lingual equivalent of rocks, and the same for the government, only they use bullets. Aggression makes us feel better, like we're doing something, which we are: pissing everybody off. I think most Americans want to believe we're secure again, but I bet that deep down, most of us know just how fucking simple it is to pull off an act of terrorism, here or anywhere else. We're not safe and we can't be made to be safe. At least not be the means we currently employ. ]]>

Dating a gay guy will cure someone of the fantasies of murdering thousands? Um, okay. I must be misreading. With as many dates as I've had, I've saved more lives than Mother Theresa. Of course, very little of it has to do with Iran or policy -- but that's what makes BC BC. Very little of the Iraq war has to do with Osama or Al Queda*, but that's what makes America America. (The reasoning being that Saddam is funding terrorists? Osama is a multimillionaire and has multimillionaire connections everywhere from Saudi Arabia to European nations as well as the whole Phillipine area. Thinking taking down Saddam would solve that is like taking down the Piggly Wiggly because Wal Mart is hurting your business.) You try to reason with people, CW. You show them facts, history, statistics, whatever, and they still don't see. So you get to a point where you just take the conversation elsewhere, I guess? ]]>
